Super Y League

Founded in 1999, Super Y is a nation-wide youth league operated by the United Soccer Leagues (USL), which is the largest organization of elite soccer leagues in North America. Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. Divisions within Super Y are organized geographically, and membership in the league is limited to only a few elite programs to ensure strong competition.

Kingdom Soccer Club has been a member since 2003. Since joining Super Y League, Kingdom Soccer Club has had over 15 teams advance to the North American Finals. Of those teams, Kingdom Soccer Club has captured 3 Championships and 2 Finalists.

What are the advantages of Kingdom SC Super Y?

There are several advantages of playing Super Y for Kingdom SC. One of our main goals is to provide a top-notch opportunity and experience for any player that wants to continue playing at a high level during the summer ‘off-season.’ Players develop at faster rates through the Super Y-League system by playing and training in a highly competitive environment.

Listed below are more advantages of playing Super Y:

Competition Level: Kingdom SC plays in the Midwest Regional of Super Y. The Midwest Region is arguably the top region in Super Y with clubs from Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ontario. The top teams from each age group, U12-U18 in the Midwest Region will earn a bid to compete at the North American Finals in Bradenton, Florida every December.

Coaching Staff: Kingdom SC Super Y teams are coached by highly trained and experienced, professional coaches. There are no ‘parent’ coaches. All coaches are trained in the ReThinkSoccer player development curriculum and provide a positive player centered environment.

Fall Season Preparation: The Super Y season also serves as an excellent opportunity for players to prepare for the fall season, whether its for high school or for their own club teams.

Affordability: Kingdom SC Super Y provides a more affordable option for the summer than the traditional summer soccer camp.

Who is eligible to participate?

To play on a Kingdom SC Super Y Team, any player from any club is eligible. Super Y is a separate program from the normal Kingdom SC teams that plays in the fall and spring seasons. Super Y has no implications on regular club season, and will not affect a player’s status for their normal club team. Any player from any club is eligible to play for Kingdom SC Super Y Teams

What is the selection process FOR KINGDOM SC SUPER Y teams?

Players are selected for Kingdom SC Super Y teams in one of the following ways:

Tryouts: Tryouts will be held in December/January. Current Kingdom SC players are encouraged to attend tryouts for their birth year age group, or a year older (in unique situations only).

Invitation Only: Coaches of our Kingdom SC Super Y teams reserve the right to select any player from any club to their team whether they were able to attend the tryout or not.

Coaches will begin to form their roster through the scheduled tryouts or by invitation only for all roster openings. Players who attend a scheduled tryout can expect to hear from the age group coach within one week of the scheduled tryout date. You may be asked to attend another tryout for further evaluation and/or coach recommendations may be asked for before a roster spot is offered.
