About Our Club

Mission

Kingdom Soccer Club’s mission is to provide an opportunity for young people in our community to develop healthy life skills and team skills through active participation in the wonderful game of soccer.

Objective

Our objective is to increase the knowledge base of the soccer player by carrying out the ReThinkSoccer method of training and philosophy using the latest developments in coaching and skill training.  Within our organization we use the professional expertise of experienced coaches who have learned the ReThinkSoccer training methods.

History

Kingdom was created as a semi pro soccer franchise that played in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) in 1995.
A commitment to youth soccer player development through summer camps, classes and community outreach helped grow the Organization.

In 2003, the next step was taken when Kingdom created Kingdom Reserves Premier Youth Soccer Club to make sure the mission of player development was enhanced for both boys and girls players ages 12 – 18.

In 2004 the Kingdom created Kingdom Super Y Club.  Teams play during the summer season(June and July) in the United Soccer Leagues Midwest Division. These teams are U12-U17 boys and girls, and also Super 20’s Men and Women.
Kingdom Sports indoor facility was also built in 2004 with a year round commitment to youth sports development and to create a great league and training venue.

In 2005 Kingdom created Kingdom Select Travel Soccer Club for girl and boy players aged 7 – 12.  Kingdom Select plays in the West Michigan Youth Soccer Association (WMYSA) League that services Southwest Michigan.

In 2007 Kingdom created the Kingdom Under 8 Academy program. This program is an in-house training and small sided games program. The Under 8 Academy focuses on technical skill development in a fun and creative atmosphere. The focus is not on winning but providing an opportunity for any child, boy or girl, to learn the technical skills while growing their love of the game. Since 2007, Kingdom Soccer Club has been competing in various leagues and tournaments across the state and Midwest region. Some teams have represented the Kingdom Soccer Club at national level tournaments in Florida as well.

In 2012 Kingdom Soccer Club adopted a new and innovative player development program, Meulensteen Moves and Skills, in 2012. The program is targeted toward player development along the lines of technical skill. The program offers an “Ages and Stages” approach. As the player continues through the Meulensteen Curriculum from age group to age group, there will be new ideas implemented into the training sessions. The younger age groups focus on technical development, and as the players get older, the tactical element is introduced involving the technical skills that have already been taught.

ReThink Soccer Changed Everything

In 2013, the ReThinkSoccer curriculum and philosophy were implemented at Kingdom Soccer Club. Focusing on positive, skill-based practices in a “Basic and Intermediate” structure, the program aimed to develop players under a Complete Player Model, which better ensures they are grasping – and employing – the fundamentals of the game.

From 2004 to 2015 Kingdom SC had five Michigan State Cup Semi-Finalists and NO champions.

From 2016 to 2019 Kingdom SC had ten Semi-Finalists and four State Cup Champions.  Additionally, Kingdom SC won three Super Y North American Champions.

In 2021 Kingdom SC Boys 2003 Red won the United States Youth Soccer National Championship.

The club has experienced tremendous growth and success over the past 10 years and is currently the largest youth club soccer program in Southwest Michigan. Kingdom Soccer has numerous teams at each age to provide a level of play suitable to any child, regardless of experience or background.
